Whiteout

I skied around searching for an interesting composition in the whiteout. Finally I found these bare blown rocks that made a nice foreground to Mount Bierikbakte in the background.

Whiteout conditions are not the easiest to photograph. However, they are common in the winter and beautiful in their own way.

I spent an hour with the scene waiting for the mountain to be just barely visible through the light snowfall. I skied back to the tent, got the stove running and snow melting. A cup of warm tea was in the making.
