seeking light
in wild places

I’m a photographer and filmmaker drawn to the northern landscape — to its mountains, old forests, and the quiet places between. Through my work, I seek the spirit of the landscape, letting the shifting light guide me.

Moments in the Wilderness is my first long-term project — a year in the mountains and forests of the north. It became a film and a handcrafted print portfolio. A quiet study of landscape, light, and time.

My current project, The Old Forest, is a year-long journey into the taiga, the old-growth forests of northern Sweden. Learn more about the project and help bring it to life here.

When I’m not seeking light in wild places, I live in the countryside outside Östersund, in Jämtland, with my partner Petra. In 2022, I was honored as “Nature Photographer of the Year” by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.

Midwinter Dream — from Moments in the Wilderness

My journey as a photographer began 20 years ago in a remote valley in the Swedish mountains, where I fell in love with both the landscape and photography at the same time. I knew, right then, that I was hooked for life.

Since then, I’ve ventured into wild places, following the seasons and the shifting light. I’ve spent years deep in the wilderness, from fierce snowstorms on the mountains to the quiet stillness of spring mornings in the forest.

I’ve climbed peaks, crossed rivers, battled mosquitoes in summer, and pulled my pulk painstakingly through deep winter snow — all in search of the light. Through my work, I hope to bring you there: to these wild places, the changing seasons, and the fleeting moments of light.

My photographs are available as exquisite, signed original prints, printed carefully by myself in the studio on the finest materials.

Receive field journals, stories from the northern landscape, and occasional notes on new work.
