Off-Season Beauty

The lush green of summer is gone. So are the vibrant colors of autumn. Left is a subtle and subdued landscape.

Days are getting shorter and soon snow will cover the ground.

I find this time of year, late autumn, beautiful but challenging to photograph as its beauty is not obvious.

It’s also a challenge to be out this time of year. With high humidity and little warmth from the sun it can be hard to keep clothes and gear dry.

The fog clears and the intricate details of late autumn are revealed. On the border to Sarek National Park. October 2020.

I captured these photographs during a week-long hike in October last year on the border to Sarek National Park. Thick fog had rolled in during the night and when I woke up I couldn’t see more than a few meters in front of me.

Slowly the fog lifted and the intricate details of this late autumn scene became visible.

I completely lost myself in this quiet moment.
