Winter’s Edge

During the short days of November I snowshoed into the National Park of Vadvetjåkka. The landscape was transitioning from autumn to full winter and I spent a five cold days in the park searching for something interesting to photograph.

I struggled to get something good but finally found this spot along the river that hadn’t frozen over. I was fascinated by the shape and contrast that the change of season brings. A few days later this would all be frozen solid and both shape and contrast would be gone.
