Frozen Dream

I came across this characterful old pine tree during the day and I returned later in the afternoon with the hope to capture it in the twilight.

It was cold, – 25 degrees Celsius, and along with the low temperature came some beautiful midwinter light. The frost covered pine tree in front of me was glowing in the very last light of the day.

I really enjoy working with the midwinter light, especially at the edges of the short winter days. There’s something special about it.

To me this photograph captures the essence of Muddus National Park during winter. The old pine tree, the cold and the beautiful hues of the midwinter light.
