Nature Photographer of The Year

Magnus Lindbom - Årets Naturfotograf 2022.

Today I’m happy and honored to announce that I’ve been given the Nature Photographer of The Year Award (Årets Naturfotograf) by The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket).

Here’s the motivation:

Magnus Lindbom receives the award for his portrayals of the Swedish mountains. Lindbom’s photographs brings the magnificent mountain expanses into focus. With technical mastery and presence, he conveys the character of light and the seasons in the landscape.

Through his photographs, from demanding one-man expeditions, he brings the viewer with him to the most remote parts of our Swedish mountain range. There he transforms the beauty of the wilderness into a source where we find important inspiration.”

To receive the most prestigious award that a nature photographer can be given in Sweden is a milestone in my career. For 20 years I’ve been working hard to capture the spirit of the mountains and the wilderness and I will continue the work for many, many years to come.

To me the award is a proof that following your own path and working hard at it pays off in the long run.

I want to thank all of you who have followed along on the journey so far. Next week it’s time for me to write the next chapter as I will announce my new project Moments in The Wilderness. I’m really looking forward to tell you more!
