In this post I thought I shed some more light on the Limited Edition Print Portfolio that I’ll produce as part of my project Moments in The Wilderness. I’m really excited about the whole process of creating it. It’s something I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time – finally!
This is the first Print Portfolio that I produce so it will be very special to me – and hopefully you will feel the same. Each copy will be handmade, signed and numbered by me. The edition is limited to 200 copies – so don’t wait too long with your order.
The Print Portfolio will contain 10 photographs of the finest moments that I experienced during the year. The first three are completed – but for now I will keep them a secret.
My ambition is to create a beautiful and inspiring work of art. When you open the box I want it to bring you there – to those special moments in the wilderness. To bring you close to nature.
Unlike a book the Print Portfolio consists of original prints – that is prints made by me, the artist. They are made with archival pigment inks on a beautiful museum quality fibre paper. Compared to the print quality of a book these are on another level. The tones, colours, details and depth of my prints are truly exceptional.
The printing is an artform in itself and one that I’ve worked hard to learn and master over the years. Chances are that you have never experienced a fine photographic print and it’s impossible to show the qualities on a screen. You have to take my word for it – they have to be experienced in real life.
The prints will be presented in an archival box with a beautiful sleeve made out of an exclusive matte art paper. It sets the tone of what’s to come.
Opening the box you will find a cover sheet that will be signed and numbered. It will be followed by a foreword and then the main act; the prints themselves. After the prints you will find two sheets with a short story behind each photograph.
There will be a lot of work involved in making each individual portfolio (not to mention the relentless work of capturing the photographs in the wilderness!) and there will of course be a lot of challenges along on the way, but I will enjoy every part of the process.
The work with the project is ongoing and the field work ends in June 2024. The Print Portfolios will ship in December 2024 and you can pre-order your copy today. By doing so you’re not only purchasing a beautiful piece of artwork but you’re also supporting my work with the project.
