6 weeks in Sarek and Padjelanta
Soon I’m heading out for 6 weeks of adventures in the mountains of Sarek and Padjelanta to continue my work on Mountains & Beyond. I’m really excited!
My plan is to go to a few new areas that I’ve been thinking about going for a while as well as some places where I’ve been before that I want to come back to.
I really look forward to the coming adventures. Of not knowing how they will turn out and if there will be any good photographs along the way. You never know.
I won’t be doing all six weeks at once, that would be just to much gear to carry. Instead I will be doing three trips of about two weeks each. I have found that to be a sweet spot in terms of length of a trip. Long enough to have the time to really get into it all but with a pack weight that is still manageable.
My pack will weigh around 24 kg including 6-7 kg of camera gear when I set off. I have written a post on the top 10 things in my backpack that will be published here soon.
At the moment I’m packing and preparing gear. There is lot of things that has to be done before I leave. Everything needs to be checked, food has to be prepared, new gear has to be tested and maps has to be studied. It’s part of the process.
I’m going to keep you updated about the adventures here on the blog so check in once in a while to see what I’m up to. I will post field notes whenever I get the chance to and hopefully some video as well.
I look forward to long summer nights and a healthy dose of mosquitoes.
