Talisker Bay, Isle of Skye, Scotland – September 2011
One of the highlights of last year was my trip to Scotland. I’ve always wanted to travel there and I’ve been specially fascinated by its coastline. So when one of my friends called me and asked if I would like to join him for a week in Scotland I didn’t even hesitate.
One week is almost nothing when one travel to a country for the first time. There was just to much that we wanted to see, and not enough time. We spent a few days on Isle of Skye, which was beautiful. But I must say I did enjoy the northern coast even more.
Early one morning we drove down to the bay of Talisker. The weather was miserable but we made the hike down to the beach. I had a vague memory of a picture with black sand from this beach, but wasn’t sure about it. When we came down the tide was high so all we could se were stones. After a while the tide started to recede and a beautiful dark beach unveiled itself.
I was totally absorbed in making images. Things changed all the time. This one is my favorite, it’s a simple one. But in my book, simple often equals good.

Beautiful simple and ethereal image, as usual! The delicate tones of the foreground mix perfectly with the ones of the sky.
